feeling like flying :)

okay, so it happened. i got my first after 16 kiss!! chris came over last night and we ended up sitting on my couch talking for over an hour. when he left, i waslked him to his car, and well... it happened! haha, i don't really want to talk about it more, because i'll end up gushingg and it'll be a little disturbing, but just thought i'd inform ya'll of the latest update! anyways, i'll end up seeing him tonight again, so hopefully, things will go just as good!

snow is falling all around...

so i've spent the last week taking my semester exams, and i'm SO GLAD they're over with. the only grade up is my trig one, and i got a (grr.) B+. Go figure. hopefully that won't mess up my A in that class right now...

anyways, i got out of school early friday, and whadda ya know, friday evening, it starts to snow. and snow. and snow. now, don't get me wrong, i think the snow is pretty and all, but... only when it gets me outta school. i found myself stranded in my house, and i really wasn't all that happy about it. in fact, i was all set to have an absolutely miserable weekend.

but on saturday afternoon, my friend devynn called me and asked if i wanted to go for a walk. we ended up just wandering around her neighborhood when this guy ryan (officially not her boyfried, but they're pretty much together) texted her and asked if we wanted to meet up with him. it was quite a long trek, involving briar bushes and really really REALLY cold creeks, but it was a fun adventure. when we met ryan, he asked if we wanted to go back to his house and meet up with some people.

so (miraculously) my parents okayed it. when we got there, i ended up talking to this guy named chris. he's in ryan's band (they have a pretty dang good band. they're finishing touches on an album, and in discussions to get signed), pretty cute, and he's a senior. ultimate plus: he's only kissed 2 girls, which is really cute. but the best part didn't come till after i left, when he told ryan who told devynn who told me that he was "feeling it" and wanted to hang out again. so we're talking about going downtown and getting something to eat and just hanging out on tuesday. im excited :)

but i did something TOTALLY CREEPY just for yall, and i jacked his profile picture to put in my blog. hopefully, he will never see this haha.

so it's not an amazing picture, but i find his guitar VERY attractive. and i'm happy. the boys are finally coming to me. maybe, just maybe, i'll finally get that good ol' first day this week!

return a la escuela

hmmm, i surprise myself with my nerdyness. it is a weekday, and i am, GASP, posting on my blog. you would think that i would have actual friends to talk to on facebook, but alas, i am alone, and i don't really want to log off yet JUST IN CASE anyone wants to talk to me, so i am blogging!
well, i went back to school on monday, and it was quite exhausting. after taking two weeks off with my bought of mono, all i wanted to do when i came home was sleeeppp. which i did. for several hours. so at the moment, my sleep schedule is all outta wack, but hopefully that'll get back to normal soon. i've managed to catch up on almost all of my make up work (one trig quiz left, yay!) and i even got my room cleaned today, which i'm sure my mom is QUITE grateful for.
and now, that i have some free time for blogging, i figured i'd upload some pictures, FINALLY. these are from last sunday, when me and my friend danielle, whom i mentioned a few posts back, and another girl from church named shelby (yep, we be twins!) were hanging out in dani's car. they're not great, but i thought it was time for my blog to get a little bit of color to it!
and here's a picture which if you look at my mom's blog, you've probably seen. not much of a fan of this picture, but whatever. it was my first date, which was with my dad, haha. it was actually a really fun night, and i got closer with my dad then i've been in a while. i wouldn't admit it to any of my friends, but if he ever called to ask me out again, i'd definately say yes! (;

okay, these next few are from our church halloween party. yes, im dressed up! i was a "fallen angel," for lack of better words. basically, i raided my friend danielle's closet and found a white dress and black feather wings, and BAM, idea was born.
this is at that same party, in the bathroom. i dunno if you can tell from the picture, but we used facebook's photo editor to "zombify" our eyes, so that's why mine have a distinct silver tint.
alrighty, i had to include this one. this was the day after i went black, and it was REALLY dark. its lightened up a lot now, and its more brown and red, but to tell the truth, i kinda miss the black. it was different and cool, and i can feel the beginnings of a new hair dye mission again! hahaha, just kidding. i think. i always have wanted to try blonde.....
i just had to throw this in to show the joys of seminary. this is mine and danielle's interpretation of lehi's dream. i was responsible for the great and spacious building/playboy bunny mansion. i was proud! (;

anyways, this wraps up my photo recap of my life these past few months! will write more later, hopefully with updates on my date this weekend! xoxo-sg.

and life goes on...

sorry! the last two months have completely gotten away from me. i did totally intend to sit down and write these past several weeks, but always something came up. i was either grounded or busy... funny how these things seem to happen.
anyways, update in my life. well... huh... it seems nothing really monumental has happened to me in the past few months. how unfortunate.
OH WAIT! i turned 16 last weekend! can't believe i spaced on that. i must say, it wasn't the most exciting birthday. i spent the week before feeling really sick, and after about nine straight days of a fever, i got some blood work done which showed i have mono. i've had several friends who have found it there responsibility to point out the karmic significance; YES, i do realize the humor in the fact that now that i am sixteen, i am infectious and cannot kiss anyone for FOUR MONTHS. don't worry. it's a thought that has occured to me SEVERAL TIMES.
so basically, i've spent the past two weeks at home, laying on the couch. i can now empathize with the elderly; i understand just how much energy it takes to climb a set of stairs. by the time i get to the top, i'm out of breath, and when i had to walk down the street to go pick up my sister after my mom sprained her ankle, i was on the verge of passing out.
however, it's gotten a bit better. last night, my best friend rachel and i went with my family to a neighborhood christmas party. we weren't expecting much--we've lived here long enough to know there's really no cute guys in our area--but lo, and behold, one of the neighborhood boys brought his hot friend and his EXTREMELY hot cousin. oh, it was a fun night (; don't worry. kiss free for four months. nothing happened. but it was a lot of fun just to hang out with some guys without stressing that my parents would freak about a double date and us being paired off because I'M NOW SIXTEEN AND THAT IS LEGAL, thank you very much!
unfortunately, the cute cousin, who i got to talk to, lives in virginia beach. mehh. however, he said he was coming down for christmas and maybe we could hang out. fingers crossed! this is one of those times where you really love facebook!
but speaking of boys, i have been officially asked out on my first date! actually, a guy named watts has asked me for several weeks, but after he found out i had mono, he said i would rather wait until i was completely cured. HOW RUDE! well, it pretty much told me what he wanted, and honestly, if he couldn't handle hanging out with me once without any of that stuff, then there's no way we're hanging out after i'm no longer contagious. sucks for him. but anyways, another guy named jamie asked me to go on a little adventure we here in richmond like to call the tacky lights tour, and he said he didn't mind that i had mono. SO THERE. hopefully that will be fun. and i must admit, jamie is nice, and i do really like him as a friend, but i'm kinda glad i have a true and legit excuse to fall back on... i really can't see myself kissing him.
well anyways, i have ward choir tonight at six, and then a general christmas broadcast, so i should probably go. plus, i'd like to update my music on my blog... i have some new songs in mind! so i guess, its time for me to say tata for now! hopefully you'll hear from me again soon! xoxo--sg.

im back!!

well... its been QUITE a long time since i posted anything up on this old blog of mine! i was looking at my mom's blog and happened to see that my last post was over a year ago! i decided that i had to delete this pathetic excuse of a blog, but when i went to go do just that, i was distracted by my old posts. i guess i felt a wee bit sad about erasing one of my precious internet spaces, so for now, i'm here to stay!
my dad is freaking out on me about facebooking on sunday. however, i am not on facebook, as my account is unavailable at the moment. this seems to be happening more and more often. DARN YOU FACEBOOK!! how am i supposed to know if that hottie in my cisco class wrote me back if you NEVER OPEN!!??!!
well anyways, i suppose there's a little bit of updating that needs to be done. i'm a junior this year at james river high school and i LOVE it. i never really expected that to happen.. i havent LOVED school since middle school.. but i guess its grown on me. we have a block schedule, which means we have first period everyday for about 40 minutes, then three different classes every other day for about 75 minutes. on even days, i have spanish IV, trig/precalc, ap english, and ap us history. its a day of DEATH, let me tell you. spanish is not as bad as its been, but still pretty hard. i obviously was not blessed with the gift of tongues, but i'm doing pretty good! ;) after first period, we have a 35 minutes to ourselves. its called AEP, or acedemic enrichment period, and its REALLY helpful. i can go see any of my teachers for help during this time, or stay in first period and study or just relax. a lot of times i end up playing life with my friend on his iPod touch, but we play it in spanish, so there is a little bit of brain activity going on! i also have an hour lunch, which is AMAZING! several of my teacher have complained about us having 90 minutes to ourselves a day while they only get 75 to teach us, but i'm pretty happy!
on odd days this year, i do something a little bit different. last spring i was... well to put it plainly, i was OBSESSED with a guy who took this computer class at our local technical center. he suggested i take it, and i dropped all my plans for the next year and ran to sign up. needless to say, by the time school started this year, we were no longer speaking, he had a girlfriend, and i was stuck in this completely useless cisco class (cisco is the computer company that sponsors the class; technically, its the Cisco Academy. no one really calls it that though). i walked into that class PETRIFIED, but i've actually grown to really LOVE it. i'm one of three girls in that class, but i've gotten really close with one of them. there's several cute guys, which doesn't hurt, but i think the thing i love the most is that they're all some of the sweetest and nicest guys i've ever talked to, and i feel so blessed to get to spend every other day out of the drama and peer pressure of a normal high school. its really nice to be able to make friends with people from all over the county.
to do the tech center, i leave inbetween my first period and AEP and ride a bus for 30 minutes to the actual center. a girl who i used to know from church before she stopped going rides the bus with me, and we've grown quite close on the hour round trip. her names allyssa, and she's doing the tech center for cosmetology. i've loved getting to know her even better.
well there's a review of my schedule so far. this weekend has been quite nice to just lay around and relax. on friday, i hung out with my friend danielle. she's a senior i met at church, and she can DRIVE! she picked me up and took me back to her house, where we watched some "tivo"ed episodes of Supernatural and the Vampire Diaries. very good shows, but they have rather complicated plot lines, so i wont waste time trying to describe them to you when you, quite frankly, probably dont care. however, on the topic of tv shows, if you're looking for a new one to watch, i've developed a rather soft spot for Glee. its only one its fifth episode, so there's still plenty of time for you to catch up. little content warning: there's so drug and sexual references, but hey. its high school!
anyways, yesterday i watched general conference with the fam, and then hung out with danielle again. we got a Haunting in Connecticut from Redbox (which is one of the greatest inventions ever if i may say so myself!) and watched that. it was rather scary, i'm not going to lie. one of the better scary movies of the last few years, and its based on a true story. its quite good.
well, i should probably go. we're about to have a family phase 10 tournament, and then i have some more general conference. hopefully i'll be able to keep up with some more regular posts, but if not, feel free to check out my facebook! (i can assure you i'm on THAT every day haha) bye for now! --sg

Long Week

so i've been really busy the past week... i went to our local amusement park with five of my church friends on wednesday. for some reason, i kept sneezing the whole time. i kept balming it on allergies, but i woke up the next morning with a terrible cold! i spent most of thurday sleeping, but then i had a church basketball party friday afternoon. we went and swam in the river and then came back to emily and seth's house and ate the best homemade cheesecake ever! after that, my friend amanda drove us out to julia's house for our third year camp party. when we were driving down the highway, smoke started coming out from under the hood and the car stopped! here we were, five teenage girls standing in the middle of the highway with no idea what to do! luckily, two guys were nice enough to stop and push the car out of the road, and then one of them stayed and helped us fix the car. he happened to be an auto mechanic, and we just happened to stop right next to an auto repair shop, so we consider it our own little miracle!
anyways, we had to pour water into the radiator and then use duct tape to patch up a hole in the pipe.
